1 - Clean your Gutters
accumulated leaves can block the gutters and prevent water from circulating. By cleaning you will avoid overflows and accumulations of ice on your roof.
2- Check the Caulking around the Doors and Windows
It's late in January to realize that the cold air from outside passes through your doors and windows. To prevent this check the condition of caulking around windows and openings and make repairs if necessary. 3- Detach the Garden Hose
Pressure in the hose may damage the hose as well as the faucet
4 - Insulate Walls and Attics - by checking and insulating your walls and attics you will keep unwanted holiday guests like Old Man Winter and Jack Frost out of your home while saving you money.
5 - Remove tube Connected to the Gutter
Many people forget this and keeping the extension tubes connected to the gutters could cause them to freeze and prevent water from flowing

1 - Clean the air exchanger filter
Dirt can accumulate in the filters as your air exchanger has not been running for several months. A dirty filter will not do a good job and you may live in an environment where the air is stale
2 - Check the Air Exchanger drain
Make sure the drain is properly connected to prevent potential water leaking
3 - Reduce Condensation
Despite a functional air exchanger, there is always the risk that condensation will occur. You can do few things to reduce it, such as removing screens from windows to allow heat to warm up the window, leaving blinds and curtains open at night and wiping frost off the windows in the morning.
4 - Check if there is any Air Leaks
Inside your home, inspect around the following areas for any cracks and gaps that could cause air leaks: door and window frames, electrical and gas service entrances, electrical outlets, window-mounted air conditioners, openings for dryer vents and fans.
5 - Inspect the escape hatches
It's important to check the condition of your dryer exhaust as well as that of the range hood . Nobody wants to get dusty heat from the dryer or have a house that constantly smells like food.
These simple actions can make the difference. In addition to protecting your home and promoting its proper functioning, they can also help to improve energy efficiency of your home.
